Jungtea privacy policy
Jungtea for ChatGPT and Claude (the "service") checks website addresses and brand names against Jungtea's index of money ties and answers with recorded facts. This page says exactly what the service receives, what it keeps and for how long, who else sees it, and what you can do about it. It applies to the Jungtea MCP server at mcp.jungtea.com and to its answers shown inside ChatGPT and Claude.
What the service receives
- Website addresses and names only. When ChatGPT or Claude calls the service, the request carries the website addresses (for example
sleepopolis.com) or the brand and company names the assistant wants checked. A full web address is reduced to its host on arrival; the path and any query are discarded and never stored.
- Never the conversation. The service does not receive your messages, the assistant's answers, your files, your account, your name or your email address. ChatGPT and Claude send only the tool arguments above.
- No accounts, no sign-in, no cookies. The service has no user accounts and sets no cookies. It cannot tell one person's requests from another's beyond the network address that any web request carries.
- Technical data that every web request carries. The network address of the caller (normally ChatGPT's or Claude's servers, not your device) and request headers are seen by the server while it answers, as with any website.
What the service keeps
- Request contents are not stored. The website addresses and names in a request are used to answer it and then dropped. They are not written to a database or to the log.
- Counts only in the log. The server's log records, per request, the time, the tool called, how many items were asked about, how long the answer took and the status. Logs are kept for up to 30 days for reliability and abuse prevention, then deleted.
- Rate limiting. To prevent abuse the server keeps the caller's network address in memory for up to one minute to count requests. Nothing is written to disk.
- Live lookups. When the server asks Jungtea's own lookup service (
api.jungtea.com) about a website, it sends that website address alone. Answers may be kept in the server's memory for up to one day to answer repeat requests faster; they contain Jungtea's recorded facts about the website, not anything about you.
Who else sees data
- ChatGPT (OpenAI) and Claude (Anthropic) run the assistant and the conversation. What they keep is governed by their own privacy policies. They send the service the tool arguments described above and show you its answer.
- Jungtea's hosting provider operates the servers the service runs on and sees network traffic the way any hosting provider does.
- No one else. The service does not sell, share or send data to advertisers, analytics providers or other third parties. It serves no advertising and does no tracking or profiling.
Corrections ("Is this wrong?")
Every answer carries an "Is this wrong?" link that opens an email, from your own mail program, to Jungtea's correction address with the website in the subject. If you send one, Jungtea keeps your email to handle the correction and replies to it. Nothing is sent unless you choose to send it.
Your choices
- Turn Jungtea off in a conversation or disconnect it in ChatGPT or Claude at any time; the service keeps nothing about you to delete.
- Questions about this policy, or a request about data you think the service holds: write to the correction address shown in every answer.
Changes
This policy is dated 30 October 2026. If what the service receives or keeps changes, this page changes with it and the date is updated.
